The Pender Island Otters Swim Team was founded in 1998. Competing on behalf of the Vancouver Island region in the British Columbia Summer Swimming Association (BCSSA), the Otters have produced various levels of success within their own club. Today the Otters Club consists of approximately 50 dedicated athletes that travel from both Pender and Mayne Island to train every Friday in Victoria at the Saanich Commonwealth Games Pool or in Sidney at the Panorama Pool year round. During the summer season the Otters test their skills at competitions held across the island and province.
The Pender Island Otters Swim Team inspires to create a positive atmosphere where excellence in competitive swimming and personal growth can be achieved.

Sean is a familiar face to the Otters being a coach with us a couple years ago. He is excited and passionate to be back and with our club! Sean has his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Victoria. As well he coaches with Juan De Fuca Royals and has plenty of experience coaching swimmers of all ages and developing challenging yet fun practices for everyone to excel to the best of their ability. Being a previous competitive swimmer, Sean loves giving back all the wonderful experiences he had as a swimmer to the next generation of young athletes. Sean's dedication to his swimmers and to setting goals tailored to each swimmer makes him a talented coach whom we are excited to welcome back to the team for another fun year.
